Grade 6 - Mrs. Wendy Hackett
Hi, my name is Wendy Hackett. I am a New Jersey native, but I have lived in Vermont for the last ten years. My husband still refers to me as a flatlander. I’m a huge New York Yankee fan as you soon will learn once you enter my classroom. This September my husband and I are expecting our first child, so I will spend part of this school year on maternity leave. My husband and I feel very excited and blest to be bringing a new life into this world, and we can’t wait for our bundle of joy to arrive.
The 2008-2009 school year will be my sixth year in education and I’ve spent them all at CKS. The first two years I taught computer class to all the grades, and I also taught 7th grade Social Studies. Then I spent three years teaching fifth grade, and now I’ll be moving to sixth grade. I love teaching the 9- 12 year old age group, and one of my main goals for my students is to have fun learning. I want my students to be excited about coming to school each day knowing that they are receiving the best education possible and having fun in the process.
